Tips when looking for the perfect wedding dress

1. DETERMINE YOUR BUDGET

Trying on dresses that are out of your budget is just a waste of time and also will force you to spend more than you bargained for. Remember the cost of a dress also has the added cost of alterations and all the accessories that go with the final look.

2. BRING YOUR ACCESSORIES

Bring that nude bra or that pair of shoes. Wear your hair up if thats the way you are going to do it on the day. Feel your best even on the day you try on your dress for the first time.

3. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT

This should be number one! We always assume that we can just walk in a store and get the service we want. Let the store know you will be arriving to ensure you get the best service possible and not feel rushed through the whole process! To add to this, try to pick a day or a time of day that would be less busy like lunch hour on a Wednesday.

4. DON"T TAKE TOO MANY JUDGES

It's easy for our decisions to be swayed on what dress looks good on us, but having too many people there can lead to walking out with nothing and a whole lot of stress. Pick people who may have the same style as you and will see what you see. Let's not make this like that TV show on TLC :)

5. WALK AROUND AND SIT IN THE DRESS

The first step is trying the dress on. If it feels good it could be too good! Walk around it in and sit in it for a little while. Make sure you can dance in that thing if you plan to party all evening long. Also consider it may be summer and you may sweat in it if its too much for you.

6. DON'T STICK TO ONE STYLE

You may think you know what you want but you could surprise yourself. We are all comfortable with a style that we think will look great on us but in actuality we may find something better suited. Have fun with this! It's not supposed to be a stressful shopping experience!

7. SHOP EARLY

Unless you have found your dress dress of an online yard sale or on the rack then you need to shop for the dress at least 8-10 months before the wedding. Reason being is that your dress can take 6-8 months to come in and then you may also need alterations. If you are an indecisive person that start shopping even earlier!

8. WEAR A DRESS THAT FITS NOW

your goal may be to lose weight before the big day and that is a great goal, however buy a dress that fits you today. You can always make those alterations later as its much easier to alter a dress that is too big than one that is too small.

9. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS

If you can't see yourself walking down the aisle in this dress then its probably not the one. Your first gut instinct is always right!

Have fun with this and remember if you are uncomfortable in the dress, it will show in your pictures. NO PRESSURE :)
